Frequently Asked Questions

Is Reiki coverered by insurance?

No, it is not. I charge $50 for 30 minutes and $100 for 60 minutes.

If my therapy is covered by insurance, why isn’t Reiki if I’m going to you for both?

Listen, I’m just a girl. My understanding is that Reiki is not considered essential by the people in charge of healthcare.

If I’m paying out of pocket for therapy, what are your rates?

My typical rate for 53-60 minutes of individual psychotherapy is $195. However, I may be able to offer reduced, need-based rates on a sliding scale. Please contact me directly for more information.

If you have public social media, why can’t you add me as a friend?

Short answer, there is a huge power imbalance in therapy. The goal is for you to feel like we’re friends (and me too fr I wanna like the people I work with), but ethically I am not allowed to engage in “multiple relationships” with therapy clients. The exception to this is if you are also seeing me for an additional service, like Reiki, where I am still providing you with a service as a healer.

How do therapy sessions work?

Because the therapeutic relationship is SO important for your healing, I recommend coming in for weekly sessions for the first 6 months. You may not always have things to talk about and that’s okay. Not every therapy session needs to be focused on putting out fires from your last week; and in fact, we can get to the root of unhelpful cycles easier if that is all we’re focusing on!

There may also be times when your week was too heavy to do the same level of introspection in therapy as usual. That’s okay too. My job is to meet you where you’re at. Plus who doesn’t love a good yap session.

Is clinical hypnosis like what I see in movies? Seems spooky.

Absolutely not. The super professional hypnosis people would be upset at me saying this, but at least at the level I can provide hypnosis, its much more like a guided meditation. You are in control of what your body and mind are doing at all times. I am aware of how vulnerable hypnosis can feel, and I would not want to abuse your trust.

Not a question, but I love your photos! Did you take them?

Ugh thanks for noticing :) I like to travel
